1. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
or:   A voice from Heaven promised at the end

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD”. “Behold, I will send my messenger; and he shall prepare the way before me [...]”. “And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.” “[...] even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap [...]”. Mal 4:5; Mal 3:1; 18:1; Mal 3:1-2

Elijah, a messenger of the covenant? The message of Elijah like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap? With reference to a man, these might easily be considered blasphemy against Heaven. But do not think that the “Message of Elijah” is merely the message of a man; it is the message of God Himself, the message brought to us by the One who, in human language in the Holy Scriptures we call the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost.

It is the message of a friend whose heart we have broken so many times, too many times. He is indeed broken-hearted. Our indifference regarding His Person, His Sacrifice hurts Him. If He had not known our inner feelings, He could say that we do not love Him, that we do not want Him in our hearts, in our lives and among us.

The enemy of all good things laughs in His face whenever we, through our negligence and ignorance, make room for him into our hearts. We have got accustomed with him so much that our self takes him for a friend. God has been trying for years on end to take many of us under His protection, to offer us His peace, His love, His righteousness, but we walked away. We do believe that we can be righteous by means of our own efforts and consequently be saved. We use the blood of the Lamb only when we believe we have sinned. We wash ourselves in the blood of the Lamb, making use of the merits of His atoning sacrifice in order to cleanse the eruptions of evil and wickedness on our faces which should be a reflection of His image and rarely do we remember that all these things arise from the heart.

If only we could see ourselves the way we really are! We would be horrified! I know that many, but not all will disregard these words. Harvest has come and there is no more time left. In a shorter time than we could possibly imagine, He Himself will separate the sheep from the goat and the wheat from the tares. Blessed are they who will open their hearts and minds to the words of His message and woe to them who will disregard it! We have but a little time to restore our real connection with Him!

The very moment the Lamb of God, the One slain for me and you, looked into the book in which there was sealed the Plan of Salvation, the whole Mystery of the Father was revealed to Him. That very moment He could see in the Plan of the Father that the end of all things is appointed and that there shall be no more time. He put His Holy Spirit upon His elect so that we should all be warned.

He knows each and every one of us too well and also knows that we make wonderful, idealistic future plans, all in vain for the time being. But they are far from being ruined, though. The highest prospects are being prepared for us. Blessed are the wise that, at this final hour of history, give up the dreams of their “sleep” and do wake up. This message is indeed the midnight cry. Get ready! Behold, the bridegroom cometh!

Nothing has been realized at random on Earth, but according to a plan, the Plan of Redemption. Jesus, as Son of man came to live among men, He entered into covenant by baptism and offered Himself as a sacrifice for sin in the fulness of time. In the same way, all the other events in the Plan of Redemption have fulfilled and will fulfill in the fulness of time. His coming in glory as King of kings and Lord of lords will come in the fulness of time and the hour is near.

God is in charge of the entire universe. By the redemption and death of the Lamb sacrificed, God has the right to rule according to His wisdom all things, not only those in heaven but also those on earth. The earth was brought to existence because it was needed. God foresaw in His omniscience the entrance of sin into the world and beforehand He made a Plan of Salvation which would unveil in the circumstances foreseen by Him so that, at the end of sin and consequent sufferings, the earth should be put in a position of esteem higher than any other the human imagination could have ever aimed at.

God, the Father belittled, abased His Son under any rule, including the one of death so that we should be uplifted higher than any rule. The Father gave His son forever so that we should be His forever. The Son took off His divinity and put on humanity so that we could bear His image in and over us through the Holy Spirit; He through Himself and we through the Holy Spirit. As much as our human nature can bear, we will partake of Him. However, few are those who experience the true spirituality, too few. We think ourselves rich, righteous and we know not how wretched we are, and poor, and blind and naked!

Blessed are all those who hear and fulfill the message of this cry! We shall be His and we shall bear His righteousness as oil is borne in the lamp, we shall shine His righteousness as He Himself will be in us. In His peace and quiet shall we be saved. The Plan of God has had provisions for the present the previous generations would have enormously wished to know and live. Still, it is the privilege of our generation and therefore yours. By means of His power, He will lead His people from victory to victory; nation after nation will join His holy army as His sons and daughters, released from the bondage of the separation from Him. And what He does, no man can change.

“Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech. Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? Doth he open and break the clods of his ground? When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their place? For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him. For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod. Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen. This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working”.Isa 28:23-29
